David Chaney
President and Owner
Dave has nearly thirty years experience providing risk management solutions to employers with large Ohio exposures. As an active member of the service team, Dave works with clients in the design and execution of goal-oriented service plans and helps them resolve difficult workers’ compensation issues.
Dave also operates Chaney Excess Specialists, a broker for workers’ compensation excess insurance coverage. Prior to founding both companies eighteen years ago, Dave worked closely with employers at two other regional firms and a large national insurance broker giving him a well rounded risk management background.
He is active with the various self-insured groups in Ohio and has spoken before several trade associations. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton and an alumni volunteer with their admissions office. He’s also a member of the Business Advisory Council of Cuyahoga County Community College (Tri-C) and recently completed serving as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beacon Health, a non-profit mental health agency.
Nancy Klier
Vice President of Operations
Nancy oversees the operational aspects of Chaney Consulting Group including client service standards and the development and training of all personnel. She has been with Chaney Consulting Group since inception and lends over twenty years of diverse and related experience to the Chaney Consulting Group team and its clients.
In addition to her claims management roles with two different service companies early in her career, she also managed unemployment, FMLA, and workers’ compensation for a several thousand employee, multi-facility employer, as the Workers’ Compensation / Leave of Absence Specialist for Akron General Medical Center.
Nancy is a member of the Self-Insurers Group of Ohio and Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM). She is a graduate of Montclair State University.
